Looking Back

I had an amazing opportunity this week to catch up with my friends; it gets more and more amazing as the clock ticks on. I attended the Pan-IIT to engage myself in a few lectures given by some eminent speakers but honestly speaking , in a situation which gave me a chance to catch up with my friends , Pan-IIT was naturally demoted to the backdrop and became an excuse to be there with due course of time.
We did everything that we would have done if we still were living a hostel life. The night outs , late night movies , LAN gaming, playing cards , playing football and getting drunk a little , all these found a place in our busy schedule.
But something which had never struck me before, which perhaps has occurred to others earlier, was that the reunion was so much more enjoyable because we were due for one. One really begins to miss something when one is not there is an age old cliché and one enjoys something when that something has been grabbed away is something I’m beginning to experience. The reunions would not make a difference to us if they occur with a considerable regularity. Though sporadic reunions might make one poignant after they end, the joy they provide is unparalleled.
So is it time, I quit Mexican food for some time or stop watching football for a few months so that I enjoy them with boundless joy the next time I catch up with them?
